Due to impeccable performances in gross income, I have decided to present you this list. Here is the list of top 10 best selling PC games of all time.
First on the list is the most famous game of 2019 which is PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) developed and published by PUBG Corporation. PUBG Corporation is a subsidiary of South Korean company Bluehole. This game is inspired by 2000 Japanese film “Battle Royale”. It comes in the category of online multiplayer battle royale.
Game Description: In the game, a total of one hundred players connect online and parachute onto an island. These players scavenge for weapons and fight among themselves. The area of the map decreases as time progresses which forces players for more encounters.The last player or a team standing wins the game.
The game was released in 2017 on Microsoft Windows, Mac and Xbox. A free-to-play version of it was released in 2018 on Android and IOS platform. By 2019 game became the best selling and most played game of all time. The company has sold more 70 million copies worldwide up till now, with more than 500 million players if mobile version included.
Second on the list is Minecraft which is a sandbox video game developed by Markus Persson. It was released in 2011 by Mojang and later it was purchased by Microsoft in 2014.
Game Description: Minecraft has a first person perspective gameplay by default but there is also an option for third person perspective. The game is composed of rough 3D objects known as “blocks”. These blocks represent various materials such as dirt, ores, stones, tree, water and lava. The core game play is to pick up these objects and place anywhere to build things. Players can mine to find new objects or blocks. The game is virtually infinite and players can roam anywhere in the world to find new things. The game map world is same as our own world. The game comprises of five game modes: survival, creative, adventure, hardcore, and spectator. Player can select any one of these and start enjoying this awesome game.

Third on the list we have Diablo III which comes under three gameplay categories dungeon cracker, hack and slash and action role playing. It was developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It was released on Windows, Mac and other platforms in 2012.
Game Description:In the game there are seven character classes and each class have many characters. The classes are Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, Witch Doctor and Wizard. The player gets to choose a single character from any of these classes and is tasked with defeating the Lord of Terror, Diablo.
The game was on hype because of its previous versions and set a new record for “fastest selling PC game of all time” by selling more than 3.5 million copies in 24 hours of its release. It became the best selling game of 2012 by selling more than 12 million copies worldwide. The company has sold more than 1 billion copies up till 2019.
World of Warcraft
Fourth on the list is World of Warcraft (WoW) a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG). This game was released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment. It is the fourth released game in the Warcraft fantasy universe.
Game Description: World of Warcraft takes place within the Warcraft world of Azeroth. Since its launch, the game has total of eight major expansion packs. These expansion packs are The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, Legion and Battle for Azeroth, and Shadowlands.

In the start of the game players are given with basic tools like axe for woodcutting, sword for fighting and a pickaxe for digging. Later as game progresses the other resources and tools are available to players.
Terraria received prositive reviews from the critics and by 2019 it have sold more than 27 million copies worldwide. Within 9 days of its release 200,000 copies was already sold. In a month it sold 432,000 copies. This is the reason it is among the best selling PC games of all time by unit sold.
Sixth on the list is “The Sims” which is a series for life simulation video game developed by Maxis and was published by Electronic Arts in 2000.
Game Description:In the game players creates a virtual peoples called “Sims”. He gets to live a life of that character and fulfill his desires and needs. You can build new homes as well for the characters. Every series of the game have the same constituent of what you can do with your Sims.
The Sims might be the most successful game you might have heard. It has been awarded with “Most Expansion Packs for a Videogame Series” and “Best Selling PC Game Series” by Guinness World Records. It has sold approximately 50 million copies according to the reports in 2017. As of 2019, The Sims games have done a total grossing of approximately 5 billion US dollars.
Seventh on the list is a military science fiction media franchise game Starcraft. It was created by Chris Metzen and James Phinney and it is owned by Blizzard Entertainment. The game was released on Windows worldwide in 1998.
Game Description:The game is in the 26th Century where there is a survival fight among four species for Universe dominance. The four species are Terrans which are humans, insectoid Zerg, the powerfully enigmatic Protoss and “god like” Xel’Naga creator race. The games took place in a new Milky way galaxy named Koprulu Sector.
When the game was released it became it became the best selling PC game for that year with a total of 1.5 million copies sold worldwide. Up till now it has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide with 4.5 million copies sold only in South Korea.
Eight on the list is Garry’s Mod (GMod) which is a sandbox game developed by Facepunch Studios and published by Valve. It was created by Garry Newman for Valve which was released in 2006.
Game Description:The game mode of the game has not main objective as a player. The players are able to spawn non player character, ragdolls and props. Players can use these things for whatever means they like. It also has a feature where other players can submit their own mod games on the same platform.
In 2008, Garry’s Mod was awarded “PC Mod of the Year” by GameSpy. On the first day of its release 5,730 copies were sold and 312,500 were sold in the month. By the end of 2019 it has been estimated that the company have sold over 15 million copies worldwide. It approximately has overall revenue of 1 billion up till now.
RollerCoaster Tycoon 3
Second last on the list is a construction and management simulation video game RollerCoaster Tycoon 3. This game is a third installment of RollerCoaster Tycoon and was released in 2004.The game was developed by Frontier Developments and published by Atari, Inc on Windows.
Game Description:The gameplay is simple of this game. The players are made in charge of managing amusement park and rides. Players have unlimited time and money to construct their won amusement park. Last on the list is a first person shooter (FPS) game Half Life 2. The game was developed and published by Valve in 2004.

Players have to control a character named Gordon Freeman who fights against aliens with different weapons for example object manipulating gravity gun. There are also allies like resistance fighter Alyx Vance who help him during his journey.
It took 5 years to develop the game and costs around 40 million US dollars. Half life 2 was acclaimed by critics for its advanced physics, animation, sound, AI, graphics, and narrative. The has won 39 Game of the Year awards. According to the reports it has sold more than 1 billion copies till 2019.
