10 Famous Jehovah’s Witnesses

You may or may not know various things and facts about Jehovah’s witnesses. Some believe it while others do not believe in it. It is a Christian denomination that believes in some fact that is different from the other ones. Jehovah’s started in the year 1870 when a man named Charles Taze Russell started leading the Bible stories mainly in Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania area. They started to work as a group and the group did not rely upon blood transfusions. It is a reputed organization that consists of a good number of members. They avoid taking blood and in the same manner respect god for giving a beautiful life.

Here come the names of the people who are considered as the witnesses of Jehovah. A lot of people are included in the list of Jehovah’s witnesses. They had a different mentality as well as a way of thinking that cannot be counted and noticed among the common or general people. They will be always remembered by all. 

Naomi Campbell

She is an established model and an actress. At the age of 15, she recognized herself as a leading model. This helped her to take her career to the peak. She was a born Jehovah’s witnesses. In the present time, she is found in the Church of England Protestant. She is particular about fighting against racism mainly in the fashion industry.

Michael Jackson

He was one of the most famous and evergreen pop stars who ruled the pop industry for a long time. He was also one of the Jehovah’s witnesses. His mother converted to the sect in 1963, when Michael Jackson was 5.  Michael Jackson and his mother Katherine even went door to door to preach Jehovah. The Jackson family did not celebrate birthdays, Christmas and Halloween as Jehovah Witnesses do not allow it. Elizabeth Taylor gave Michael his first Christmas in 1993, he liked it but at the same time he felt guilty because he felt he betrayed his religion.

Janet Jackson

She is one of the most dynamic performers and recording artists of the 1990s. She was bought up as a Jehovah’s witnesses as her mother Katherine Jackson had been baptized as a Witness in the ’60s. She is a strong liberal democrat.

Mickey Spillane

He was one of the most famous and reputed American crime novelists. He became a Jehovah’s Witness in1952. For the next few years, he gave up writing to follow his faith. He helped build the Jehovah’s Kingdom Hall in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Spillane remained a devoted Jehovah’s Witness until his death.

Dwight D. Eisenhower

He was one of the most famous and popular American soldiers who served as the 34th President of the United States of America. He was raised in a large family in Pennsylvania with a strong religious background. His mother was a Jehovah’s Witness. Eisenhower, however, did not belong to any organized church until 1952.

Prince

The latest release from the Prince Estate is a collection of demos of songs he wrote and recorded for other artists between 1981 and 1991

He was a very famous and well-known songwriter, musician, and music producer. Prince also earned good fame as a multi-instrumentalist. He was born and raised in Minnesota and Minneapolis. Larry Graham introduced him as a follower of Jehovah’s witnesses. He became strongly attached to the religion. It was also the last request of his mother to convert him as Jehovah’s witnesses. 

Venus Williams

She is a well-known American tennis player who is known across the globe. She has also won a lot of awards in both singles and doubles events. She and her sister Serena Williams were raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses by their mother Oracene Price, who converted to the religion in the 1980s. Venus has been more outspoken about the religion. She thanks “Jehovah God” for her success as a tennis player.

Evelyn Mandela

Evelyn Mandela was a South-African nurse and the first wife of an anti-apartheid activist Nelson Mandela. The death of their second child had a devastating effect on Evelyn, who became more religious. She was a Jehovah’s Witness with no interest in politics.

He is a well-known guitarist. He is one of the strong witnesses of Jehovah’s. He has also written several songs on this subject. In his younger days, he met some Jehovah’s Witnesses and they made him curious. He started doing some research and found it fascinating. And after a great deal of studying and thinking he decided, this is where he is going. He talked to people about being a Jehovah’s Witness.

George Benson

He started his professional career right at the age of 19 as a Jazz guitarist. He was also a popular Jehovah’s witnesses. He has also created a song called bless Jehovah oh my soul. Benson describes his music as focusing more on love and romance, due to his commitment to his religious practices.
