Doomscrolling, also termed as Doomsurfing, is a tendency to continue to scroll or surf on the internet for the bad or negative news. This news might be saddening, depressing or disheartening. Cause of Doomscrolling or doomsurfing

Since lockdown has been enforced during the pandemic, we have got enough time to spend on social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and many others. When we start scrolling down the page on any of the social media platforms, we find numerous information and news about pandemic some true and some fake news also. This scrolling on our mobile or computer sometimes keeps going for hours (credit goes to the unlimited data plans offered by the telecom operators), and leaves a deep impact in our mind.
